Perrin’s Corner SERVICES
What we stand for –
We are dedicated to providing you and your family with the highest quality care and support on your journey to better health. As passionate and experienced osteopaths, we are committed to utilising the power of osteopathy to address a wide range of health concerns for individuals of all ages. Our services are tailored to meet your specific needs, whether you’re seeking relief from discomfort, improved mobility, or a holistic approach to wellness.

Osteopathy
(Dr Perrin, Ian Trotter, Antionette Attuah)
Osteopathy is a hands-on approach to healthcare that focuses on how the muscles, joints and spine work together, using techniques such as stretching, massage and gentle manipulation to improve movement, reduce pain and support the body’s natural healing. People commonly visit osteopaths for back and neck pain, joint and muscle problems, sciatica, headaches linked to the neck, arthritic and postural pain, minor sports injuries, and pregnancy related aches and strains.

Cranial Osteopathy
(Dr Perrin, Ian Trotter, Antionette Attuah) /Cranioscral therapy CST (Sylveen Monaghan)
Babies & Children
Cranial osteopathy and craniosacral therapy (CST) use very gentle, hands‑on techniques to work with subtle tensions in the head, spine and body, helping to soothe the nervous system and ease physical strain. They are often used for birth strain, colic, reflux, feeding or latching difficulties, unsettled behaviour, sleep problems and flat head shape.
Adults
In older children and adults, cranial osteopathy and CST are commonly used for headaches and migraines, neck and back pain, jaw/TMJ tension, stress and anxiety, fatigue, sinus and ear problems, post‑concussion or trauma, and general tension patterns.

Sports Injuries
(Dr Ray Perrin , Ian Trotter, Antinette Attuah and Sylveen Monaghan)
We help people recover from sports injuries by reducing pain, restoring movement, and guiding a safe return to activity. We commonly see problems such as muscle strains, ligament sprains, tendonitis, back and neck pain, and joint injuries in areas like the knee, shoulder, and ankle.
In clinic, treatment may include hands-on techniques such as soft-tissue massage, joint mobilisation and manipulation to improve mobility, ease muscle tension, and enhance circulation. Our physiotherapist and osteopaths also use tailored exercise programmes, stretching, and rehabilitation drills, alongside advice on training loads, posture, and injury prevention, to support healing and reduce the risk of future problems.

Expectant mother biomechanical care
(Antionette Attuah)
Our Osteopath helps with pregnancy-related pain and discomfort by using gentle, hands-on treatment to ease strain, improve alignment, and support the body’s natural adaptations through each trimester and after birth. In clinic she often sees lower back and pelvic pain, sacroiliac and pubic symphysis problems, sciatica, rib and mid back pain, neck and shoulder tension, headaches, and issues linked to posture, breastfeeding, and lifting or carrying a baby.
Treatment may include soft tissue massage, stretching, and light joint mobilisation, alongside advice on posture, sleep positions, and safe exercise to reduce pain, improve mobility, and aid recovery during and after pregnancy

The Perrin Technique
(Dr Ray Perrin , Ian Trotter, Antinette Attuah and Sylveen Monaghan)
The Perrin Technique™ is an osteopathic approach developed by our clinic director Dr Raymond Perrin DO PhD in 1989 originally for ME/CFS that aims to manually drain toxins from the cerebrospinal fluid into the lymphatic system. Movement of the spine and massage of the soft tissues in the head, neck, back and chest direct all the toxins out of the lymphatic system and into the blood, where they are eventually detoxified in the liver. Eventually with less poisons affecting the central nervous system, the hypothalamus in the brain and the sympathetic nervous system begin to function correctly, restoring health in the patient.

Physiotherapy
(Sylveen Monaghan)
Sylveen is a hands-on physiotherapist treating pain and movement problems using manual techniques to improve joint mobility, relax tight muscles, and restore normal function, often alongside tailored exercise and rehabilitation programmes. In clinic she commonly sees back and neck pain, muscle strains, ligament sprains, tendon problems, joint injuries in the shoulder, hip, knee and ankle, sports and overuse injuries, and post-surgical or fracture rehabilitation cases.

Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM)
(Dr Ray Perrin)
Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) electrotherapy uses very low-level electrical currents at precise frequencies to support the body’s natural healing processes. It may help by reducing pain and inflammation, improving circulation, and speeding recovery in problems such as chronic pain, soft-tissue and joint injuries, and post-surgical healing.
The below therapies used in clinic but are done by private practitioners, not on the booking system. For booking, please use the individual phone numbers, or contact the clinic.
Traditional Acupuncture
(Conrad Nix)
Traditional acupuncture involves inserting very fine needles into specific points to influence the body’s pain pathways, circulation, and nervous system, which may help reduce pain and promote relaxation and wellbeing. It is commonly used for problems such as back, neck and joint pain, headaches and migraines, osteoarthritis and other long-term pain, as well as symptoms like nausea, stress, anxiety, sinus issues, and some women’s health concern
Dry Needling
(Conrad Nix)
Dry needling uses the same type of fine needles as acupuncture but is a modern, Western technique that targets tight, painful “trigger points” in muscles rather than traditional acupuncture meridians and qi. It is commonly used for myofascial pain, muscle knots, sports and overuse injuries, headaches, neck and back pain, tendon problems, and mobility restrictions, often as part of a wider physiotherapy or rehabilitation programme.
Reiki
(Kath Fletcher)
Reiki is a gentle, Japanese “energy healing” practice where the practitioner places their hands lightly on or just above the body to encourage relaxation and balance in the body’s natural energy. Reiki is often used as a complementary therapy to help reduce stress and anxiety, promote a sense of calm and wellbeing, and support people alongside medical treatment for pain, fatigue, and other health challenges.
Nutritional Advice
We at the Perrin Clinic will advise on healthy eating as part of a general management of healthier living based on evidence based studies. We also work closely with a very experienced and highly qualified nutritional therapist who can give specific advice and tailor bespoke diets to help specific conditions.
Supplementation Advice
As part of our holistic approach we work closely with Dennis Gore Chemists just up the road in Whittaker Lane, Prestwich who store and supply many supplements and herbal remedies that aid the improvement in health of our patients .
Hypnotherapy Psychotherapy and Counselling
(Deborah Bitstone)
Hypnotherapy, psychotherapy and counselling are all talking therapies that aim to improve emotional wellbeing, but they work in slightly different ways.
Counselling focuses on providing a safe, supportive space to talk through current difficulties, build insight, and develop practical coping strategies, often over the short to medium term.
Psychotherapy is usually longer term and goes deeper into patterns, past experiences, and underlying causes of distress to create more fundamental change in how a person understands themselves and relates to others.
Hypnotherapy combines talking therapy with guided hypnosis, using a relaxed “trance” state to work directly with the subconscious mind to shift habits, emotional responses, and limiting beliefs, often for specific issues such as phobias, anxiety, pain, or unwanted behaviours.

I had all but given up on recovery from CFS, and went to Dr Perrin and his team with an attitude of 'what have I got to lose?'. Just under two years later, I am well again and have my life back. They really understand the condition, and what it's like to live with it. The quality of care is first class. Dr Perrin was always clear about what I could and couldn't expect from the treatment so I understood what was happening. The treatment worked. I feel very lucky to have happened upon the article that led me to the Perrin Technique and very grateful to the team for their care and skill.

I am currently undergoing treatment at the Perrin clinic. I have ME, which Dr Perrin diagnosed a year ago. The clinic is an absolute life line. I am slowly making my recovery. The staff are all incredibly knowledgeable, caring and supportive. Couldn't recommend highly enough.
- M.P.
After 18 months treatment with Dr Perrin and his team my life has been transformed. After years of struggling with M.E., seeing neurologists, psychotherapists, occupational therapist, ME specialists, none of these helped me at all. Dr Perrin explained M.E. to me, confirmed the diagnosis and started a treatment plan that has helped me regain my life. I cannot thank him enough. It is remarkable. From struggling to stand to walking miles and back to full time work, just brilliant.I had given up hope before I went to Perrins corner, I felt so alone and no one could help. I wish everyone with ME could try Perrin treatment. Thank you so very much
- S.H.
